Scaling a remote DevOps Team for a global leader in the automotive industry

The challenge

This leading automotive company urgently needed the to scale its IT Operations team. The team would enable them to quickly deploy new products.

They also want to introduce best-in-class DevOps practices.

And that’s where our solutions were tailor-made to help.

The solution

1. Discovery

The client needed to ramp up quickly, so we got to work straight away with a comprehensive analysis of their needs. This included everything from skills and quality to timeframes and costs. We then shortlisted several locations we felt met the criteria for clustering the remote teams; after presenting the shortlist and our analysis to the client, we settled on Hungary.

2. Selection

Remobi’s Service Delivery team then began the selection process. We already had a number of pre-screened Remobies ready for deployment but, in this case, we needed more. The team moved quickly using a number of channels to source suitable candidates. The team worked hard to secure a number of DevOps Engineers.

3. Onboarding

Remobi took care of the onboarding process, ensuring all legal and statutory obligations are met. We also coordinated all of the logistics involved, whether that’s equipment or anything else the Remobies need to get going. Importantly, we also supported the client with the induction process.

4. Community

The sense of community is a core value at Remobi. With that in mind, it’s so important that Remobies feel part of ours. We’re always close by and keep in regular contact; running competitions, sharing insights, and arranging Meetups. Essentially, we never stop building the community.

Results

In just 12 months, Remobi ramped up the remote team from 14 DevOps professionals. Hitting the important objective of consistency and cohesion, they have a remarkable retention rate of 92%.
